Making a will should be on our bucket list!
The Covid-19 crisis is a reminder that circumstances can change rapidly. Fortunately, the death toll in Australia has been relatively low in comparison to the rest of the world. But it is a reminder to us that our own mortality will occur at some time. Covid-19 crisis has caused people to slow down the pace of their otherwise busy lives and to reflect upon what is important to them. Making a will is one of the most personal documents that you will ever sign in your life so now after our time in hibernation is an ideal time to make sure you make a will.
Making a will is a bit like completing a tax return. It doesn't give you an inner feeling of joy and great satisfaction, but it is something that you have ticked off your list of must do matters.
Most people can find the making of a will to be an unusual feeling because it might be the first time in their life that they are actually seriously contemplating that they will die at some stage in the future (hopefully a long time into the future). As an Accredited Wills & Estates specialist for many years, in my experience most people are relieved when the process has been completed. There is a real sense of accomplishment in dealing with such a vital issue and making sure that the important people in your life will be properly looked after upon your death.
Now is the right time to make a new will or update an existing one. Contact O’Farrell Robertson McMahon's Wills & Estates Accredited Specialist Russell Robertson by phoning 03 5445 1020 or you can book an appointment to see Russell online.
